Russel Norman At The Crafar Farms And Pureora

Green Co-Leader Russel Norman At The Crafar Farms And Pureora Forest Park

What: Visit to Pureora Forest Park west of Lake Taupo and the two Crafar farms that could complete the Park
When: 10.00am Sunday 1 August.
Where: Meet at the turn-off of Barryville Road off SH30, north-west of Lake Taupo.
Who: Green Party Co-leader Russel Norman

Green Party Co-leader Russel Norman visits Pureora Forest Park on Sunday, a Park which holds 80% of the ancient totora remaining in New Zealand but is split by two Crafar dairy farms.

The northern and southern parts of the unique podocarp forest can be joined if the Crown purchases the farms which are in receivership, a move that would ensure the Park is large enough for native species to regenerate.
