Funding Boost For Youth Initiatives In Maungakiekie
Peseta Sam Lotu-Iiga MP is thrilled that three local organisations have received a funding injection from the Ministry of Youth Development’s Services for Young People Fund.
“These organisations provide great services to young people in Maungakiekie and I’m really pleased they have been selected in this funding round,” says Lotu-Iiga.
The National Government is focussed on supporting young people and giving them opportunities within their own communities to learn and develop.
“While creating jobs and lifting the economy are priorities as we come out of the recession, it’s great that we’re still keeping a strong focus on the personal development of our young people,” says Lotu-Iiga.
The Services for Young People Fund helps young people reach their potential, stay on track for success and have a say in their local communities.
The successful organisations for this funding round are:
o Father and Child Trust - $5,000
o
o Maungarei Youth and Community Trust - $7,500
o
o Auckland City Council Matariki Youth Programme - $7,500
o
o
Totaling $20,000 in funding.
