Dunne: Time for a decision on Aorangi School
UnitedFuture Leader Peter Dunne is urging Minister of Education Anne Tolley to ease the burden on the staff, students and parents of Aorangi School and make a decision over the school’s future as soon as possible.
“The staff, students and parents deserve some certainty over their future; Mrs Tolley has left the whole Aorangi School community hanging by a thread by so far holding out on making a decision one way or the other.”
“With Christmas on the way and a new school year just around the corner, this is an incredibly stressful time for the Aorangi staff and parents.”
“At the moment the staff do not know if they will have jobs to go to next year, parents and students don’t know if they will be looking for another school and the community does not know whether they will lose their local school.”
“The whole situation is extremely unsatisfactory and I urge the Minister to resolve it as quickly as possible for the benefit of all concerned,” said Mr Dunne.
