Turia commends Petroleum commitment

Greymouth Petroleum’s commitment to consult with tangata whenua over drilling at the Tikorangi pa site in north Taranaki has been commended by the local Maori Party MP Tariana Turia.

“Its great to see small steps being taken and the company giving a written assurance that they are ‘committed to these hapu consultation processes.’”

“I understand the company’s chief executive [Mark Dunphy] is back from America now and that he is yet to set a date to meet with representatives of the Otaraua hapu – I’m looking forward to seeing effective engagement on this issue.”
