Key welcomes Act pledge to help change the Govt
National Party Leader John Key has welcomed a pledge of post-election support from Act Leader Rodney Hide.
"National anticipates it will need support from other parties to form the next government. We welcome Act’s support, there’s no doubt that Mr Hide shares a real ambition for New Zealand.
“The economy and security for our families is front and centre for most Kiwi households and businesses now.
“The next Government will face serious economic challenges. National has been responding to those challenges, with a thoughtful, practical programme, that will offer security to the most vulnerable through the tough times, that will allow more people to get ahead through their own efforts, and that will get this country back on a path for economic growth.
“Once the New Zealand public has cast their votes, we hope to be in a position to sit down with Act, United Future, and perhaps other parties, for further discussions. But New Zealanders must remember that the only way to guarantee a change of Government is to offer their Party Vote support to National."
