ACT Announces Candidates For Election ‘08

ACT Leader Rodney Hide and Deputy Leader Heather Roy were today delighted at the release of the ACT Party and announcement of ACT’s candidates for the upcoming General Election 2008.

“We are very pleased at the calibre of candidates that ACT New Zealand has been able to attract,” Mr Hide said.

“I was especially delighted that our top candidates were able to make the trip to Wellington to attend the special press conference and help us to release the Party List.

“We are all now looking ahead with eager anticipation to the coming election, which provides ACT with an opportunity to make a real difference to then nation and lives of all New Zealanders,” Mr Hide said.

“Our candidates are committed ACT-ivists – all dedicated to ACT’s plan to bake a larger economic cake, and bring our children home,” Mrs Roy said.

“Like ACT Leader Rodney Hide, I am delighted that we have attracted so many candidates of such high calibre and passion.

“This election is not just about giving New Zealand a change of government, it is about giving the country a change of direction. That’s exactly what our candidates are all about: having the courage to make the hard decisions for New Zealand’s future – not for political gain, but for the good of Kiwi families,” Mrs Roy said.
