Mike Williams must go
National Party Deputy Leader Bill English says the Labour Party now has a very serious credibility problem with Mike
Williams as its president.
"Mike Williams has been caught red-handed saying one thing behind closed doors and another thing to the public. He must
go because the public cannot now trust him to keep Labour's fingers out of the till in election year."
Mr English says it is the second time this year that Mr Williams has been caught out misleading the public, after
forgetting to mention an interest-free loan donation from Owen Glenn earlier this year.
"The Labour president has misled the public again in a bid to hide Labour's plans to break the law.
"Mr Williams can't be relied on to tell the public the truth, yet Helen Clark is defending him. This is an indictment on
her judgment.
"Her tolerance of him confirms the culture of deceit among Labour's leadership, where misleading the public over the use
of taxpayer money is business as usual."
