Research and Innovation Cash Welcome
The government’s funding of $700 million to promote research into agriculture and innovation in food science is welcome and long overdue, says New Zealand First agriculture spokesperson Doug Woolerton.
“Financing research in areas where it will have the biggest impact on our economy will ensure everyone wins. Concentrating our efforts on our biggest exporters is just plain common sense.
“Science is critical if we are to advance in the incredibly cut throat world of international food exporting, and this investment will help New Zealand keep up with our competitors,” said Mr Woolerton.
