Sir Roger Douglas Returns to ACT
Sir Roger Douglas Returns to ACT
Message from Sir Roger
Dear Reader,
I am delighted to announce that Sir Roger Douglas has committed his formidable skills and experience to the 2008 ACT Campaign.
As Minister of Finance, Sir Roger transformed the New Zealand economy from an antiquated bureaucracy to an open market. He alone has contributed more to New Zealand’s wealth and prosperity than any other living New Zealander.
Sir Roger will now bring to bear the same skills he used then on the 2008 election. He is the first of many "dream team 2008" contributors that I will be announcing over the coming 3 months.
The polls show a call for change, but a change to what? We need more than a simple change of management. We need a circuit breaker.
While the old parties offer frivolous changes designed to boost their poll ratings, ACT has been working on policy that will deliver economic performance. We have created a framework of legislation that will dissolve red tape, enshrine the rights and click here to watch the TV3 coverage, and read the NZ Herald coverage by clicking here.

Leader,
ACT New Zealand
In any union with Australia, New Zealand
would occupy a special position - Last!
Despite this
critical situation New Zealand’s current political parties
(except ACT) are again retreating to a dangerous “do
nothing” approach.
There is in fact virtually no difference between these parties except in small degrees.
None of them have a clear vision of where New Zealand stands and where it should be heading. This is ACT’s point of difference.
None of them have a 10 - 20 year vision for New Zealand’s future and a well thought out program to achieve this vision.
No party (apart from ACT) has a different approach which makes it stand out from the rest.
Our country is at a time in its history when the political class lacks the focus and vision to meet New Zealander’s expectations. We need a political circuit breaker.
That’s why I’m inviting you to come to ACT’s Conference:
• Saturday 15 March
• Waipuna
Lodge, Panmure, Auckland.
In my midday conference speech I intend to address the question our country is ignoring at its peril:
What policies would New Zealand have to put in place to ensure it leads Australia in most of the important indicators (economic and social) by 2020, and be close to them in per capita income by then?
I look forward to seeing you there. You can register right now by calling (09) 889 2699.
Kind regards
ends
Roger
