National welcomes new inquiry into public service
National's State Services spokesman Gerry Brownlee is welcoming news that the State Services Commission is to conduct another inquiry into Ministerial influence exercised over the Environment Ministry's hiring and firing.
"We welcome Dr Mark Prebble's decision to give fresh attention to this matter. The report issued yesterday fails to deal with the fundamental question about the Climate Change Minister's involvement in the hiring of Labour activist Clare Curran.
"We look forward to seeing Dr Prebble's conclusions and will be closely monitoring the inquiry's progress."
