Dunne reasserts need for MP's code of conduct
United Future leader Peter Dunne has reasserted the need for all Members of Parliament to sign up to the code of conduct promoted earlier this year by the MMP parties.
"Question Time in the House today degenerated into a shambles of shouting, abuse and general bad behaviour, forcing the Speaker to comment that today had been a bad day for Parliament," he said.
"MP's from the MMP parties, United Future, the Greens, ACT and the Maori Party, have all signed up to the code and it's high time members from the two old parties brought their standards of behaviour up to an acceptable level.
"I call on those MP's who have not yet signed the code of conduct to do so immediately so that public confidence in the dignity of Parliament can be restored," said Mr Dunne.
