Veterans left off Honours List
Veterans left off Honours List
In the last days of the Year of the Veteran, the Labour Government has failed to pay tribute to our veterans, says National’s Veterans Affairs spokeswoman, Judith Collins.
"Veterans have been totally overlooked in the New Year Honours List.
"Once again, WWII hero Nancy Wake has not been recognized, the same goes for the veterans who worked tirelessly on the Agent Orange Issue.
"People like RSA President John Campbell, RSA Negotiator, Robin Klitscher and Ex-Vietnam Servicemen Association Chief Negotiator, Chris Mullane should have been on the list.
"These veterans, along with many others have spent years uncovering the truth about Agent Orange.
"They were instrumental in revealing the affects of the herbicide and in negotiating a settlement package, yet Labour doesn’t think their work is worthy of recognition.
"In what is the last days of the Year of the Veteran the Labour Government has missed a prime opportunity to honour our veterans.
"I just hope it’s a different story for the Queens Birthday Honours."
