Copeland urges extension to 1080 reassessment
United Future MP Gordon Copeland has today sent a letter to the Environmental Risk Management Authority requesting an extension of the submission period for the reassessment of 1080 poison.
"According to ERMA public notification occurs on 2 November and submissions close 30 working days later on 14 December 2006," said Mr Copeland.
"I have requested that the submission period be extended through the Christmas period so as to give people a fair opportunity to have their say on what is a very controversial and divisive issue.
"It is my understanding that ERMA has the ability to extend the submission process beyond the established dates, so I am confident that they will see sense and do just that," concluded Mr Copeland.
