Brash gets nostalgic over Tertiary
Don Brash continued his nostalgic approach to policy today in his speech to the Bay of Plenty Polytechnic, says Acting Minister for Tertiary Education Steve Maharey.
"Don Brash's speech signals a re-run of the tertiary education policies from 1990's that led to rocketing fees, low quality courses and high competition among tertiary organisations", says Steve Maharey.
"The Labour-led Government is ensuring the tertiarysector produces the skilled graduates this country needs to advance the transformation of New Zealand into a high wage, knowledge-based economy.
"This Government is offering greater certainty to students, tertiary organisations, employers, communities and regions to stop organisations operating in the fragmented way that resulted from National's policies."
