Field case about more than ‘criminality’
National Party Leader Don Brash has reacted to the decision by police to launch an investigation into allegations against Taito Phillip Field.
“This decision by the police is a massive vote of no confidence in the Ingram report, the terms of reference that Helen Clark laid down, and her defence of that report over the past six weeks.
“But regardless of the outcome of the police inquiry, this is about more than just criminality. What is really at issue is the behaviour of an MP.
“Helen Clark has refused to act against Mr Field for the past 12 months and has now passed the parcel to police who will spend several more months investigating the allegations.
“Helen Clark shouldn’t need criminal charges to be laid to know what is right and what is wrong,” says Dr Brash.
