Green MPs to attend Turangawaewae
Green MPs will be visiting Turangawaewae at various points during the next few days farewell the late Maori Queen, Dame Te Atairangikaahu.
MPs Metiria Turei, Keith Locke, and Nandor Tanczos will arrive at Turangawaewae tomorrow to pay their respects over the weekend. Dame Te Ata's funeral on Monday will be attended by Co-Leader Jeanette Fitzsimons, and MPs Sue Kedgley, Metiria Turei, and Nandor Tanczos.
"Dame Te Ata was a true leader who made a vast contribution to the good of her people. We are glad to be able to have a strong Green Party presence at her tangi to acknowledge her invaluable contribution, celebrate her life, and support her whanau in this time of grief," Ms Fitzsimons says.
