Hide Expresses Condolences For Terror Victims
ACT
Leader Rodney Hide today expressed his condolences for the
victims
of terrorist attacks in India's commercial
capital, Mumbai.
Eight devastating explosions in commuter
trains travelling on the city's
Western Line have killed
at least 167 people and wounded nearly 500.
"There is a
large Indian community resident in New Zealand and they
will
be affected by these outlandish acts of terror", Mr
Hide said.
"India is an emerging powerhouse of free
enterprise, trade and
development. It is a threat only to
those who oppose prosperity.
"ACT condemns this outrageous
attack on peaceful people, most of whom
were only trying
to make their way home from a day’s work.
"I extend my
sympathy to the families of all those injured and
killed,
and to the Indian people as a whole, in this time
of extreme sadness",
Mr Hide
said.
