Power To Ensure Power
New Zealand First energy spokesperson Peter Brown welcomes the Electricity Commission investigation into Auckland’s power outage.
“It is totally unsatisfactory for the largest city in New Zealand to be brought to a halt by power disruptions. A basic requirement of our electricity industry is the need for security of supply. We need energy resources to be developed, a competitive pricing system and more investment.
“The Government owes it to business and households to ensure that a safe, reliable, and hassle free service is provided. A rigorous maintenance regime is also essential to make certain that power is delivered safely and with minimal disruptions.
“The Electricity Commission needs to look critically at resolving problems with our power supply and ensure the best use of our valuable resources. In short, the Commission must use all the power of its office to ensure Auckland has all the power it requires on a continuing basis,” concluded Mr Brown.
