ACT leader Rodney Hide said today it was absurd for Winston Peters to think he can collect the "baubles of office" and yet sit with the opposition in parliament.
"Winston was given the choice of supporting a National-led government. He chose Labour. He's made his bed - he now must lie in it.
"I have told Margaret Wilson that it is totally inappropriate for Winston Peters to have a bob each way, sitting in opposition, while a Minister propping up the Labour government.
"I can understand why Winston hates being photographed and being sat amongst the Labour Cabinet. But that's the choice he made for the country. He now has to live with it.
