How many roads will go Rod?
National Party Transport spokesman Maurice Williamson says the Greens need to tell New Zealanders how many new roads would get the chop, if it has any say in the next Government.
"The Green Party has today confirmed that it is planning to introduce 'a suite of eco-taxes and levies' starting with increases in Labour's carbon tax."
National has promised not to impose the carbon tax.
"National makes no apologies for its determination to get our cities moving again, with sound roading policy and an ongoing, long-term commitment to fix the infrastrutural deficit which has worsened under Labour.
"Today, the Greens have said 'building more motorways won't make it easier for Kiwis to get around'. If that is so, Rod Donald and the Greens need to tell New Zealanders which roads they'll cancel if they get the chance.
"Mr Donald should also let us know how much extra he thinks Kiwi motorists should be paying for a litre of petrol given his party's promise to increase the carbon tax.
"No-one believes a Greens/Labour Government will build more roads," says Mr Williamson.
