A United Future vote will slay the Green monster
United Future leader Peter Dunne said today that National’s John Key and Maurice Williamson are right to raise a warning flag about the disastrous effect the Green Party’s economic policies would have on New Zealand.
The two men have pointed to the Greens’ announcement that they want to increase the excise on fuel, they want to increase the carbon charge and they want to introduce a raft of eco-taxes.
Other bizarre initiatives include a return to trade protectionism, and the Greens want the Reserve Bank to play the foreign currency market.
Mr Dunne said "I agree with Key and Williamson that New Zealand simply cannot afford to have the Greens in government.
”Their fanatical
opposition to improving New Zealand’s roading networks would
hurt regional economies throughout New Zealand and their
enthusiasm for greater illegal drug use would see our kids
going to school every day stoned out of their
gourds.
“The solution is obvious. A significant party
vote for United Future would see either of the major parties
with a stable, sensible coalition partner after the
election,” said Mr
Dunne.
