Let The Show Begin - Peters
Rt Hon Winston Peters has welcomed the announcement of the election date and the conclusion of the Prime Minister’s silly games with the New Zealand public.
“While most politicians have been in campaign mode since earlier this year, the Prime Minister’s tactics of trying to stave off the inevitable have finally ceased, and the real campaign can now begin,” said Mr Peters.
“This will clearly be a three horse race, and while New Zealand First has ground to make up, we are the party with momentum and with the policies which present a clear alternative for those who want real change from the two tired old parties.
“This election will be defined by the quality of leadership on offer, and we look forward to that. Our campaign is ready, which is why we have already announced our launch date on Sunday 31st July at the Bruce Mason Theatre in Takapuna, Auckland.
“On a sadder note, this is likely to be the last election campaign for some of the more extreme parties in parliament. I would like to wish them the best in their last weeks with us,” concluded Mr Peters.
