United Future welcomes election date confirmation
United Future leader Peter Dunne said today his party's planning for a September 17 election was well-advanced "since that was the date we have always assumed it would be held".
"Now that the uncertainty is out of the way, the New Zealand voter can focus on what will be the best form of government to promote New Zealand's and the New Zealand family's prosperity.
"At the moment, all the focus is on the two major parties, but people must realise that either of those parties will need a solid, stable, non-extreme smaller party to help them form a government.
"United Future fits that description.
"Unlike New Zealand First, we celebrate diversity and embrace people of other cultures in order to make New Zealand a more dynamic society and unlike the Greens, we don't think the most important political choice facing Kiwis is how easy it should be to get hold of and consume more and more mind-altering drugs.
"United Future is the party that stands for commonsense family values. A party vote for United Future will not be wasted," said Mr Dunne.
