National supports non-discriminatory childcare policies
National Party Education spokesman Bill English says National is committed to maintaining the increases in sessional grants and childcare subsidies announced in Budget 2005, which take effect today.
“National supports these grants and subsidies because they are non-discriminatory, unlike Labour’s 20-hours free policy which applies to a very limited number of three-to-five-year olds enrolled in not-for-profit centres approved by Labour,” he says.
