National will not support Greens’ Zimbabwe Bill
National Party Leader Don Brash says the party will not support Rod Donald’s Zimbabwe Sporting Sanction Bill.
The Bill would make all New Zealand sporting tours to Zimbabwe illegal and prevent all Zimbabwean sporting sides from touring New Zealand.
“While we are opposed to the cricket tour, we regard legislating to curtail the freedom of New Zealanders to travel as draconian and dangerous.
“This is nothing more than a political stunt by the Green Party,” says Dr Brash.
