SuperBlues ensure strong voice for 60-plus
National Party leader Don Brash today launched the party's SuperBlues website, aimed at ensuring a strong voice in the National Party for those aged 60-plus. The SuperBlues believe the National Party under Don Brash has the values and policies that are most aligned with the interests of over-60 voters.
"I entered politics because I am convinced that our children and grandchildren should inherit a better New Zealand," says Dr Brash. "This is a great country but there are some simple things we can, and must do better." National will:
„h Provide security in superannuation.
There will be no changes to superannuation entitlements,
National will continue contributions to the New Zealand
Superannuation Fund to ensure New Zealand Superannuation
entitlements are protected.
„h
„h * Provide a more
efficient health service, where extra dollars will go into
cutting surgery waiting lists, not adding more bureaucrats.
* Give our police the resources to keep people safe on the streets and in their homes.
* Re-build pride in our defence force. Our defence forces have been eroded by a Government weak on security.
* Ensure one standard of citizenship and one law for all. There is no basis for special privileges for any race.
* Respect our national identity, including our flag and national anthem. We will let the people decide if they want to change any part of it.
* Work to improve living standard relative to those in Australia so our children and grandchildren want to stay here. "I want to lead a Government, and indeed a country, where the values and ideals of our senior citizens are highly regarded and respected, as they deserve to be. The SuperBlues are working hard to ensure that National leads the next Government," says Dr Brash.
