Penlink – Whangaparaoa Bridge To Fill The Gap
New Zealand First MP Craig McNair is calling on the government to invest some of the additional $500 million promised yesterday for roading to begin the Penlink development.
Mr McNair said that the proposed road directly linking the northern motoway with Whangaparaoa Peninsula would provide a crucial alternative route across the Weiti River and help relieve traffic congestion in the Rodney region.
“All the plans are ready and all the consents have been given. The project was actually put out to tender some years ago, and so is ready to proceed immediately.
“The government should now commit to providing the extra funding required to get the project completed. There have been enough delays,” said Mr McNair.
