Race-based funding won't change under Labour
National Party Leader Don Brash says Helen Clark has been in denial for the past five years about the funding issues identified in the Labour-designed review of race-based funding released today.
"Labour has denied there was any problem for years. After I delivered my speech at Orewa last year, they said that it was a non-issue. Now National's concerns have been shown to be totally justified.
"Frankly, I don't think there'll be any fundamental change in direction despite all the so-called U-turns. Labour has only started to scratch the surface.
"Labour is constantly finding new ways of disguising its double standards on race-based funding. Only National can be trusted to deliver policies based on need rather than race," says Dr Brash.
