ACT launches its Billboards
Corner Wellesley Street and Sale Street, Auckland, 2pm, Monday 20 June 2005
ACT Leader Rodney Hide today launched ACT’s billboard campaign calling for tax cuts now and less spin, less talk and more action.
Tax – Cut – Now! and Spin – Talk – ACT billboards were launched in Auckland.
“ACT first called for tax cuts ten years ago. National was in power and pooh-poohed the idea that working New Zealanders should keep more of their own money.
“They are not pooh-poohing tax cuts now. And neither is Labour.
“ACT has won its fight for lower taxes. Working New Zealanders now want lower taxes.
“But so far all we have got from Labour is a promise of a packet of chewing gum – in three years’ time. All we have heard from National is talk of tax cuts. That’s not good enough. New Zealanders want action. They want tax cuts – now!
“ACT is the only party with a plan for cutting taxes. Treasury have costed ACT’s plan. They say it’s achievable. They say it would boost growth by 1 to 1.5 per cent a year.
“No other party has a plan for cutting taxes. No other party has consistently stood up for small business and working people to keep more of their own money.
“Labour won’t do it. National can’t do it – not on their own.
“New Zealand First won’t deliver tax cuts. Their promised spend-up would break the bank.
“It’s going to take ACT to cut taxes. That’s why Kiwis who want to keep more of their hard-earned will vote ACT this election.
“There’s only one way to guarantee change this election – and that’s to vote ACT.
“ACT’s Tax-Cut-Now! Billboard that we are launching today makes it plain, New Zealanders are not alone – ACT is on their side.
“There’s only way Kiwis can secure tax cuts this election: party Vote ACT!
