Kelly should resign or be sacked
ACT MP Kenneth Wang today labelled the New Zealand High Commissioner to Canada’s anti-Asian comments as disgraceful.
“Former Labour MP Graham Kelly’s claim to a Canadian senate committee on fisheries and oceans that new Asian migrants are one of New Zealand’s biggest problems are ill-informed and out of line.
“As a founding member of the New Zealand Chinese Conservation Education Trust, which promotes conservation and educates people about our environment, I find Mr Kelly’s comments absurd.
“A statement like that might be expected from Winston Peters, but not from a diplomat representing New Zealand’s interests overseas.
“Mr Kelly should resign or be sacked,” Mr Wang said.
