Securities Commission Appointments

Securities Commission Appointments

Minister of Commerce Pete Hodgson today announced the appointment of David Jackson and Neville Todd to the Securities Commission. “These appointments will provide the Commission with further expertise from the stockbroking and business communities, and in the financial advisory and audit areas,” says Pete Hodgson.

The appointments take effect from today and coincide with Falcon Clouston and Rodger Spiller leaving the Commission.

"I would like to take this opportunity to thank Falcon Clouston and Rodger Spiller for their service to the Commission."

David Jackson is a senior audit partner with Ernst & Young, a position he will step down from in June 2005. His experience covers corporate governance, audit and risk management, mergers and acquisitions, due diligence and divestment. He has extensive experience with major national and international companies operating in export focused agribusiness, retail, forestry and manufacturing. He holds Directorships with Pumpkin Patch, CanWest MediaWorks and The New Zealand Refining Company.

Neville Todd is an Executive Director of Milford Asset Management. Prior to this role he was Managing Director of Salomon Smith Barney in New Zealand, providing stock broking and investment banking services to New Zealand institutions and companies. His earlier career was within the financial services industry as a private client and institutional equity advisor. Over this period he also advised major global institutions in the United Kingdom, the United States, Australia and Asia on New Zealand equities. He is a past member of the New Zealand Stock Exchange.
