Wish friends and whanau well with Greens' Matariki e-cards
The Greens are giving everyone the opportunity to celebrate Aotearoa's New Year with the launch today of their Matariki e-card and postcard.
"Matariki is a time to reflect on the past and prepare for the New Year," says Green MP Metiria Turei.
"As the southern winter really begins to set in, it is also a chance to reflect on our guardianship of Aotearoa's precious, unique and beautiful environment.
"Embracing Matariki means celebrating the fact that we are all 'standing in this place' and the relationship between people and the environment and between mana whenua and tangata tiriti."
Matariki is the time of year when the star cluster of the same name, also known as the Pleiades and Seven Sisters, is first visible above the eastern horizon before dawn, approximately the 8th of June.
Anyone can send one of three attractive e-cards to friends and whanau a Matariki by visiting www.greens.org.nz/matariki .
