Budget ideal opportunity to return workers' money
Budget ideal opportunity to return workers'
money
The budget is an ideal opportunity for the
Labour Government to return billions of dollars in
over-taxation to workers, ACT Leader Rodney Hide said
today.
Mr Hide’s comments follow the Government’s announcement that it’s sitting on a record $8 billion surplus after the first nine months of the financial year.
“Labour has taken $8 billion more from workers than it needed. This works out to $2,000 for every man, woman and child. And there’s still three months left to go!
“No other government in our county’s history has fleeced so much money from hard-working Kiwis. Dr Cullen’s behaviour would make the Sheriff of Nottingham blush”.
Mr Hide said ACT is the only low-tax in Parliament committed to delivering a tax cut for every worker.
“ACT will drop the top personal and company tax rate to 25c in the dollar and drop the 21c rate to 15c. That’s a tax cut for every worker.
“I call on the Government to give workers a fair go and return the money they have so unnecessarily taken off them through across-the-board tax cuts,” Mr Hide said.
