Alexander slams paedophile going for pub job

Alexander slams paedophile going for pub job near school

News that convicted paedophile Lloyd McIntosh walked off the street seeking a job in a pub near a Christchurch primary school is further proof of society’s on-going vulnerability to him, United Future law and order spokesman Marc Alexander said today.

“Basically, if we don’t lock him up for the rest of his days, then he needs a GPS-linked security ankle bracelet and chemical castration before he should be loose in society,” Mr Alexander said.

“That is not excessive. It simply reflects the level of risk he poses to children to this day,” he said.

Mr Alexander said that he would rather that the likes of McIntosh were either imprisoned or kept in mental care facilities for as long as necessary to protect the public.

“As usual, public protection seems to come about 32nd on the list of priorities here.

“There is one very simple truth here that no one seems to be facing: Lloyd McIntosh is not a safe man to have in society. And there are other Lloyd McIntoshs out there and we need to get real about how we are going to handle them,” he said.

Ends.
