Constitution Should Protect Our Rights

Constitution Should Protect Our Rights Not Pinch Them
ACT New Zealand Leader Rodney Hide today said it would be great if New Zealand could have a proper constitution that protected people's rights rather than leaving them open for politicians to re-arrange and pinch.
"Helen Clark should be protecting private property, upholding legal contracts, and making the defending of citizens against the thugs and bullies our Government's number one priority.
"Instead Helen Clark's Government has become the number one thug and bully riding roughshod over private property and legal contracts.
"Helen Clark's constitutional debate is all abut carving up the economic cake rather than providing the conditions for baking a bigger one. Her aim is to make New Zealand a socialist republic rather than a free and prosperous country," Mr Hide said.
