Memo To Nats: Labour's Top Tax Rate Must Go!
ACT New Zealand Leader Rodney Hide today said that National was right to complain about taxpayers being ripped off by Labour's punitive tax take.
"National has correctly pointed out the problem. What they haven't done is come up with the solution.
"Labour's envy tax of 39 cents on anyone earning over $60,000 should be abolished. It was wrong when Labour introduced it. It's wrong now. I don't understand why National is committed to keeping it.
"To boost investment and prosperity we should drop the top rate of tax to 20 cents for companies and individuals.
"That's the economically sensible policy. It would boost investment and promote prosperity by allowing Kiwis to keep more of what they earn," Mr Hide said.
