Paltry Sentence For Pervert Says Mark

New Zealand First law and order spokesperson Ron Mark has slammed the sentence given to a man who dealt in child pornography and offered a 7-year-old boy up for sex on the internet.

Ross Mundy was given a one-year jail term for trying to lure “pornophiles” to his house in order for them to abuse a boy he had access to.

“Whilst he was denied home detention, he should have been locked up for more than a year. He not only traded in child pornography, he also tried to instigate the sexual abuse of a young boy. This man is a dangerous predator, “ says Mr Mark.

“I have written to the Minister regarding the lenient sentences given to such depraved individuals and he has assured me that there is going to be a maximum sentence of ten years for such crimes. I am concerned at how many more lenient sentences will be handed out before this comes into effect.

“This man is a vile predator and a danger to New Zealand children, he should be given preventative detention and locked up indefinitely,” concluded Mr Mark.
