Fitzsimons to speak on life after Aqua
Fitzsimons to speak on life after Aqua
Green Party Co-Leader Jeanette Fitzsimons will be speaking on New Zealand's post-Aqua energy options at a seminar in Christchurch tomorrow night, 7 April.
The 'How to keep the lights on after Aqua' open forum has been organised by WEA to consider the question "Is there an alternative energy source as viably economic as hydro?"
Ms Fitzsimons argues that Aqua was always unnecessary but that its demise has opened up the debate on NZ's energy future that she has long been calling for.
"There is no need to move to dirty coal or deadly nuclear, we can meet our needs with energy efficiency and renewable sources," said Ms Fitzsimons, the Green Party Spokesperson on Energy.
Other speakers at the event include Alan Seay from Meridian Energy, Arthur Williamson from Thermocell, Geoff Henderson from Windflow Technology and Solar Power expert John Viex.
