Immigration Policy Sparks Terrorism Fears
Security fears about suspected terrorists in New Zealand have been caused by Labour’s stupid immigration policies and lack of border security, said New Zealand First Leader Rt Hon Winston Peters.
This follows the revelations from spy chief Richard Wood that three people were denied citizenship and passports last year because of security concerns.
Mr Peters said Labour had ignored repeated warnings about some of the people allowed into New Zealand, and he had grave doubts that the 26,000 applicants for citizenship had been vetted properly last year.
“We have brought many cases to the attention of the Government that showed fraud and deceit on the part of applicants.
“The grim reality of the situation is that officials have actually no idea of the possible numbers of so-called ‘sleepers’ in New Zealand.
“The terrible recent tragedy in Spain, and earlier bombing in Bali, show just how ruthless these people can be. Regrettably New Zealand has been opening the doors to potential terrorists for years,” said Mr Peters.
