Return of the King - Peter Jackson that is!
The National Party is tonight congratulating Peter Jackson and the huge number of New Zealanders who helped take our own
middle earth to the top of the movie world.
"The whole country has benefited from the profile enjoyed by the Lord of the Rings trilogy," says National Party Leader
Don Brash.
"Peter Jackson, along with his talented cast and crew, have been rewarded, not just for Return of the King, but their
efforts in all three movies.
"We now look forward to the Return of the King - Peter Jackson that is, who's already working on his new project, King
Kong.
"His successes, and that of Whale Rider, are perfect examples of what can be achieved by a film industry that's
harnessing classic Kiwi know how.
"It's dispelled the notion that because we are a small country we cannot compete - that's in everybody's interests,"
says Dr Brash.
