Dalziel Resignation Inevitable
“The resignation of Lianne Dalziel as Minister of Immigration was inevitable,” said New Zealand First leader Rt Hon Winston Peters.
“Lianne Dalziel is the victim of a pattern of propaganda that she had allowed to build up around her portfolio in which the facts have become secondary to political spin.
“Her way of conducting politics was always going to have her found out and given that there have been numerous times in the past when the Minister has been found wanting this time she just had to go.
“The irony of this case of course is that the right decision was made with respect to the Sri Lankan girl but there was a botch-up in the Government’s presentation in its side of the story,” said Mr Peters.
