Biggest Land Transfer in NZ History
Biggest Land Transfer in NZ History
ACT Leader Richard Prebble said that after six months of the government issuing consultation papers, holding hui and secret discussions, we are really no wiser than we were at the beginning.
"There are Maori groups who believe that the government proposals are little more than the right to go to the beach launch a waka and build a sandcastle. And there are others, myself included, who believe the government proposals may be the biggest single land transfer in the country's history.
"It
could be that no one, including the government ministers,
actually knows what the government policy framework
means. Indeed the only thing that we are all agreed on is
that this is not good accountable decision-making for the
benefit of all New Zealanders," Mr Prebble said.
