Urgent Police Resources Needed To Fight Methamphetamine
New Zealand First is urging the Government to listen to Police Commissioner Rob Robinson’s call to get tough on criminals who sell and manufacture methamphetamine.
Mr Robinson emphasized that amphetamine-type drugs are a scourge on our society and have devastating effects on many lives.
“It is disgusting that the methamphetamine scene is thriving and criminals are profiting from the misery of others,” said youth affairs spokesperson Craig McNair.
“This drug is making criminals rich and ruining the lives of young people around the country. Methamphetamine is not just taking money from young users it is also destroying their health and future, this is too high a cost.
“The Government must provide police with the resources and powers to bring down gangs and their labs.
“It is time for the Government to listen to what New
Zealand First has been saying for a long time, and what is
now echoed by the Police Commissioner, and lead the fight
against this insidious drug for the sake of future
generations of New Zealanders,” said Mr
McNair.
