Matt Robson MP, Progressive Deputy Leader
Opening up more opportunities for low income students
"The government's equity scholarships scheme to assist low income students into high fee courses is an excellent opportunity for students around the country," said Progressive Deputy Leader, Matt Robson MP today.
"The Progressives have been working hard to increase access to tertiary education and are pleased to be part of a government decision which helps low income students make the most of their opportunities to take up tertiary qualifications.
"The future of our economy will depend on our being a well educated, innovative and forward thinking nation. Equity scholarships boost our ability to achieve that goal.
"Progressives will continue to work towards increases in student allowances and options to allow students to pay off debt through working in priority sectors and regions. Equity scholarships are another step in the right direction towards cheaper, more accessible tertiary education," said Matt Robson MP.
