Invest More In NZ Says New Zealand First
New Zealand First is calling on the Government to invest in New Zealand’s infrastructure rather than in overseas economies.
“The predicted 22 percent of the superannuation fund being invested in New Zealand is going to do nothing to support the failing infrastructure,” said leader Rt Hon Winston Peters.
“We must put New Zealand first and invest in our future. While ratepayers in Auckland and elsewhere are facing huge hikes in their local taxes to help restore the country’s infrastructure the superannuation fund is largely going off shore.
“With our transport and social infrastructure buckling under the pressure of immigration two fundamental decisions could be made to hasten New Zealand’s return to the first world – reduced immigration and greater domestic investment,” said Mr Peters.
