Iran must not be the next military target
"Ex-British cabinet ministers Robin Cook and Clare Short are revealing the dishonest basis for the attack on Iraq led by the Bush administration. It is important for the integrity of international law that the same path is not taken with Iran, " said Hon Matt Robson Progressives deputy leader.
"Iranian society is clearly undergoing vigorous debate. That should not be used as an excuse to launch a war against a member state of the United Nations. All issues that states may have with Iran can be dealt with in that key international forum.
“Many countries accuse the Bush administration of flouting international conventions and international law. They do not plan to invade the United States to rectify the situation.
“New Zealand's position must be clear: international law must be respected for Iran and all countries," said Matt Robson
