Greens endanger NZ lives

Greens endanger NZ lives
United Future leader, Peter Dunne, said tonight he was appalled at the Green Party's reaction to the Government's commitment of New Zealand military personnel to the rebuilding of Afghanistan.
"Their anti-Americanism is so rabid they would rather send civilian aid workers rather than military engineers to help rebuild that war-damaged country. Back here on planet Earth, which the Greens visit only rarely, it's well-known that Afghanistan is still a dangerous environment, with killings and bombings part of daily life," he said.
"Yet the Greens would rather New Zealand civilians put their lives in terrible danger, without any defences, simply in order to avoid the appearance of our soldiers riding around with American troops.
"This is more than ideological purity, this is lunacy and dangerous lunacy at that.
"I'm appalled to think that the Greens would sacrifice New Zealand lives to bolster their bizarre political views," said Mr Dunne.
