Education missions to Middle East and United States

Education Minister Trevor Mallard will leave today with an education mission to the Middle East, accompanied by a delegation of education sector representatives.

The group will then take an education mission to the United States in the following week, 26 May – 2 June. Some of the details are:

21 May Visits to several universities and training institutes and Manama meeting with Minister of Education

23 May Meeting with Governor of General Organisation for Technical Riyadh Education and Vocational Training (GOTEV)

24 May Meetings with Ministers of Education and Higher Education Riyadh

27 May Visit to university and institute of technology and meeting Los Angeles with education officials

28 May Speaking to the National Association of Foreign Student Salt Lake City Advisors about New Zealand as an export education destination

29 May Discussion with senior World Bank officials about New Washington Zealand's experience using information communication technologies in education Philadelphia Meeting with Centre for Education Research to discuss the US-NZ Round Table initiative

30 May Visit to schools using literacy materials developed in New New York City Zealand Key speaker at Whale Rider preview
