Opposition is nothing to celebrate Mr Peters
New Zealand First need to focus their minds on how to get into government rather than getting excited about being the biggest party in opposition as they were last night in the House said Matt Robson MP, Progressive Deputy Leader.
"New Zealand First may eventually be getting its wish to be the biggest opposition party in the House, but the real challenge is for the minor parties to work out how to get into government where they can do positive things for New Zealanders.
"Being in opposition is nothing to celebrate. The point of being in Parliament is to improve the lives of New Zealanders in a constructive way. The only way you can do that is to be in government and these days that means being part of a constructive coalition government such as the Labour Progressive government.
"The Progressives are
celebrating the fact that we can contribute to job creation,
extending industry training and apprenticeships, building
and improving houses for those on low incomes and increasing
access to cheap and free health care, to name just a few of
the constructive contributions we have made to this
coalition government," said Matt Robson
