9th of May - Smart growth through new ideas
The 15 May Budget will help support the government’s aim of building and maintaining solid levels of economic growth through innovation.
As a forerunner to the Budget, the government has a programme of activity on Friday 9 May aimed at saluting New Zealand’s success stories in the field of innovation and sustainable development.
On Friday government ministers and MPs will be travelling throughout New Zealand to visit enterprises, entrepreneurs and educators who are building success around smart ideas.
Economic Development Minister Jim Anderton and Associate Minister of Education (Tertiary) Steve Maharey will host an informal media briefing at 9.30 am on Tuesday to outline the day of activity.
